What is my enemy number one? Expectations.
I came to Italy with a lot of stuff, thinking that I would create some amazing piece of music. I spent hours planning a modular system and the effects and the synths and cables and so on and on. I wanted to come back to NY with a new album.

The truth? I failed. Badly.
I put on me lot of pressure and I created things without a meaning. Of course I have few good tracks, but I realized that inspiration is not on demand. I realized that even in the most beautiful place you might not be able to compose.

Is so strange to admit, but I need my studio in a certain way to feel confident in what im doing.

The bottom line is this one: please give yourself the permission to fail, take some distance from your art, come back at it when it feels right. Sometimes what you need is just a pause.

All this thoughts originated watching this simple jam I did long time ago. A simple tune that somehow grounds me back.

Haven't picked up any new gear in a while so I pulled the trigger on this modern classic known as LEM (Lysergic Emptions Module) by @mastrovalvolapedals ... a sonic array of textures, bit crushing and shimmering delays, and a sleek design. I'm into it so much so far. And I think I've barely scratched the surface.
